How to set the Travel limits on a MYQ Opener?

First you have to locate the control panel for the model opener you need to program. Sometimes there visible and sometimes you have to pull down a white plastic light cover to find it, The easy way is to look for a antenna wire that sticks out from the opener for communication with remotes. Follow this wire to the motorhead and you will find the programming buttons.

Once you find the programming buttons you will see 2 square buttons. One will be black and the other will be yellow or some models might have a different color like purple. This other button may also be the Learn button. The first step is to hold down the black button until the LED light starts flashing slowly and then let go of button. It is now ready to set the limits. You should start with the door in the down position. Hold the black button down until the door moves up until you can see the top of your garage door jamb. Make sure a vehicle would hit the top of your door opening before it hit the door itself. Dont open it to far because this could cause other problems.

Once door is high enough let go of the button. You can inch it slowly by tapping the button. Or if you went too far up you can reverse to down by hitting the yellow button. Once you have the desired position you have to lock it in by pushing the wall control or the programmed button on your remote that activates the unit. To set the down limit you push and hold the yellow button until the garage door hits the ground. Don’t close the door to much because it could cause damage to door or opener. Once the door is closed and snug then press the wall button or button on remote to lock it in. Now open and close the door once each. This will complete the process.
