How to program a remote for Linear opener?

LInear openers are pretty much like most other brands when it comes to programming remotes. Linear use what they call a Mega Code revolving code system just like Genie Intellicode or Liftmaster’s Security Plus. These are all revolving code systems that use a different code every time you press the remote button. This keeps someone from stealing your code and accessing your garage.

locate the learn button

Like in most cases you have to locate the learn button on the opener unit. Most of the time it is in the rear of the unit. If your opener has 2 light covers you might need to pull down one of the light covers to access the control panel. The button will be marked learn. When you press the learn button the red LED light will blink and stay solid for about 15 seconds or so and you will need to press the desired button on the remote within the time the LED light stays lit up. When it turns off you will have to start over. Once the learn button is pushed just press and hold the remote button and the light will flash only once for successful programming. It will flash 4 times when you remove the remote from memory.

That’s pretty much it for Linear openers nothing to complicated. If you have trouble check batteries or you can find instructions online on the Linear website.
