How to set the travel limits on a Marantec garage door opener?

Marantec openers have a unique programming system and can be very confusing if it is your first time to program this brand of opener unit. The first thing you have to do is find the programming buttons on the unit. Most have a small door directly on the bottom of the opener near the front. Open door and you will see a circle of lights with 3 buttons to the right. One has a big P next to it and 2 arrow buttons one with a + sign and the other has a – symbol. The + is for going up and the – is for down. Also each LED light has an assigned number on it. Every button controls a different programing function. For travel limits you will need to have the 2 light lit up to program.

the P button

First press the P button for about 2 seconds and then the 1 light will light up. Then release the P button and press it again to light up the number 2 light. Now you are ready to set the up and down limits. Locate the up or + button. Press and hold it until the door is in in your desired up position. You can stop or continue opening by pressing or releasing button to inch it up slowly. Same applies to the down limit setting. Once position of the door is sufficient then press the P button to store the position in openers memory. Once you complete this step the number 4 light should light up. Now follow the same steps for the down limit setting. Press and hold until the desired down position is reached and press the P button to save. Now just press the P button until all Lights turn off and you should be ready to go
