Is it possible to fix a crack in garage door panel?

Q: Is it possible to fix a crack in garage door panel?

A: ( sectional roll up doors: garage doors that use 4 or more independent sections or panels attached with hinges so it can curve going up and down with door track.)

When door panels age they can start to deteriorate and cause cracks. Some other causes are damage from autos hitting door when parking in driveway. Or one to many hits with a basketball can cause dents and lead to eventual cracking. Living in coastal communities will cut the life of metal garage doors in half. Salt air can also be brutal to wood doors. Any door 16 ft. or wider are subject to cracks if not reinforced properly because when door is in up position its own weight can make it sag in middle and cause cracks.

The best way to address cracks in door panels is to reinforce damaged sections with an extra strut. (Strut: struts are metal reinforcements that attaches at left side of door to right hand side.) Or sometimes the crack in a door has been ignored so long the damaged section has to be replaced if possible. Matching door panels can sometimes be difficult because all manufactures have different kinds of engineering.

I have seen everything from Bullet holes to homeowner accidentally driving their car threw their garage door. Extreme examples like these always need door or panel replacement.
