The gage and the number is how sheet metal thickness is measured. The rule is the higher the number the thinner the sheet metal will be. So a 25 gauge garage door is thinner sheet metal than a 24 gauge door. The 24 gauge door will have more strength than rigidity than a 25 gauge.

 20 to 30 dollars

The difference in cost is about 20 to 30 dollars so it’s always better to get a thicker Gage door. 25 gauge doors are usually found on track home neighborhoods where the builders use the most inexpensive doors available. Also if a customer needs to shave 20 to 30 dollars off their budget than they might buy a 25 gauge door. A 25 gauge door can be pretty flimsy and dent a lot easier also.
